PerkPeeps ("we", "our", "us") provides a QR-based loyalty and ordering platform for cafés and food businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when PerkPeeps is used by cafés and their customers.
We take privacy seriously and design PerkPeeps to collect only what is necessary to operate a simple, in-store loyalty system.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information from Customers (End Users)
When a customer joins a café’s loyalty program using PerkPeeps, we collect:
- Mobile phone number (OTP consent only)
- One-time password (OTP) verification status
- Loyalty activity (visits, rewards earned, redemptions)
- Orders placed via QR (items and total spend)
We do not require customers to:
- ❌ Download an app
- ❌ Create passwords
- ❌ Share email addresses
- ❌ Personal profiles
1.2 Information from Cafés (Business Owners)
When a café uses PerkPeeps, we collect:
- Business name and outlet details
- Email and Phone number (for account management)
- Menu items and pricing
- Staff activity related to order and reward management
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information strictly to:
- Operate the loyalty and ordering system
- Track visits and reward progress (loyalty tracking)
- Prevent fraud and incorrect redemptions
- Display reward status to customers
- Provide dashboards and reports to café owners
- Send essential service messages via OTP verification
We do not sell or rent personal data.
3. WhatsApp Business Platform
We use WhatsApp Cloud API for OTP delivery only. Meta processes:
- Phone number (for delivery)
- IP address and timestamp (for abuse prevention)

We store only hashed phone numbers + verification status.
4. Business Profile Data
Café owners provide specific information to maintain their WhatsApp Business Profile and Catalog compliance:
- Business name and address
- Menu items and descriptions (available via catalog)
5. Compliance
PerkPeeps is strictly compliant with the WhatsApp Business Policy. We do not facilitate the sale of any prohibited goods or services.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share personal data with third parties except trusted service providers required to operate PerkPeeps (e.g., WhatsApp Cloud API or hosting services) or when legally required by law.
Customer data is scoped to the café they visit and is never shared across cafés.
7. Data Retention
We strengthen our data protection by minimizing retention:
- Phone: Deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
- OTP logs: Retained for 7 days for security audit purposes.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data, including secure access controls, encrypted communication, and limited internal access.
9. DPDP Compliance (India)
In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023:
- Access/Delete: You can request access or permanent removal by emailing yashkathoke@perkpeeps.com.
- Removal Timeline: Permanent removal within 72 hours of request.
- No Selling: We never sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
